welcome

hello and welcome to the inside of my website! please excuse the mess and the broken links, i am doing website necromancy right now.

i barely know what i am doing and this code is held together mostly by tape and good luck. i used to be adept but then i did not touch my site for a stupid long time. now i don't remember anything. we might go through lots of iterations before i settle on something i like. who knows !!!!

my whole thing with building a website is because i hate social media and because i want evidence out there that i was real and existed. so this is my digital tombstone so that after i am gone people can see what i did and thought. (also it is fun! yay yippee!!)

please stand by while a website appears here

sea beast of the month

red-spotted guard crab
Trapezia tigrina

the red-spotted guard crab is a small species of crab native to the Red Sea. they have small flat bodies covered in bright red polka dots which help them blend in with the corals they make their homes in! red-spotted guard crabs have an interesting mutualistic relationship with the corals they call home. they keep the corals clean and free of coral-eating predators, while taking advantage of the mucus and undigested particles that the corals give back as food. despite these crabs' small size, they are fiercely territorial and can be quite combative when they think they're being threatened. these little cuties aren't necessarily endangered yet, but their wellbeing relies on the health and wellbeing of the coral reefs they call home.
